Lourie Architects LLC has provided architectural design and construction administration for escalator well way canopies thoughout the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority system.

The prototypical canopy design a graceful stainless steel and glass structure provides an instantly recognizable entry to the Metrorail system and complements the elegance of the original Metrorail system.

The canopy design has been adapted to a range of well way sizes and shapes including the round Dupont North 70 foot diameter well way and the Huntington open escalator installation.
